Konde Studio raises seed round to ship local-first AI orchestration

We are thrilled to announce the close of our seed round, led by Equation Capital with participation from local angels. Here is what we are building and why.

We spent the last six months building Konde Studio in stealth. Today, we are announcing our seed round — and what we are building with the capital.

The bet

Most dev tools today target Series B engineering teams. They optimize for the case where ten engineers ship the same codebase, with a CI/CD pipeline, a shared Notion, and a Linear backlog with sprints.

That is not the world we live in. The fastest-growing software companies of 2026 are run by one to three people with ten to fifty AI agents. They ship faster than any seed-stage team did five years ago — but their tools are stitched together with duct tape: Cursor on the editor, Claude Code in a terminal, Vercel for hosting, Stripe for billing, Linear for tracking, and a dozen Slack channels glued together by Zapier.

We are betting that this duct-tape stack is a temporary state. The next generation of solo and tiny-team builders deserves a real operating system — opinionated, integrated, local-first, fast. We are building that operating system.

What Konde Studio actually is

A single macOS app that combines:

  • Project orchestration — every codebase, server, agent, and deploy target in one canvas
  • Multi-agent runtime — assign Claude Code, GPT-5, or local models to work on specific projects with persistent memory
  • Embedded server management — Cloudflare Tunnel, port scanning, auto-restart, log streaming, all native
  • One-license, one-machine pricing — no SaaS lock-in, no seat tax, no AWS bill scaling with your usage

The whole thing runs locally. Your code, your agents, your databases — all on your laptop. The cloud is for what genuinely needs to be in the cloud (the public website, the deploy target, the shared assets) and nothing more.

Why local-first wins this cycle

Three forces converge in our favor:

  1. Apple Silicon is fast enough. A base-model M-series can run a 14B parameter model at 60 tokens/second. The "you need a datacenter for AI" narrative was true in 2023 and is not true now.
  2. Latency matters more than people admit. A coding agent that takes three seconds per turn destroys flow state. A local one at 200ms feels like a thought.
  3. Privacy and ownership are unspoken requirements. Founders building real businesses do not want their codebase, customer data, or strategic notes flowing through a vendor's logging pipeline.

The seed round

We closed a $2.4M seed round led by Equation Capital, with participation from local Indonesian angels who have built and exited four-plus software companies. Capital goes toward three things, in order: (1) hiring two senior engineers, (2) shipping the App Store mechanism (KSS) so third-party modules can extend Konde Studio without us shipping every feature ourselves, and (3) running the closed beta with a hundred founders we hand-pick over the next quarter.

What is next

Early access opens this month. We are looking for builders who already feel the pain of the duct-tape stack — solo founders, tiny teams of two or three, agency operators running ten client projects in parallel.
